I know it´s sometimes hard to combine travel and mental health – like in my case, I have to travel because of my job while suffering from depression.
I found it easier to be away from home with the help of my family. Daily video calls and texts helped staying focused.
When you rather talk to someone else – do that!
The most important part of the contact is the conversation itself. Talk about how you feel and the things you like while being away. Share how your day went and what you´ve experienced, this way your focusing on the positiv. I picked this tip up along the way, meeting other travellers in the same situation as mine.
I tried it out after struggeling with a lot of workstress on top of my health condition. A toxic mix if you ask me.
Anyway I felt the talking positivly to be really helpful after a few days. So I contined doing it and it kind of became my routine ever since.
